The Wisdom of the Heartfelt Hierophant

I am resonant as I re-read something that struck chords in me 20 years ago. It stood and still stands as one of my faves, and of course it feels different this time. No longer an Initiate, I initiate myself, feel a new charge cascade in tingles throughout me like when you hear someone sing in just that way that wonderfully waterfalls an ablution inside you.

This time around, my Hermit-Devil character, assemblage of Magician on the Right, Priestess on the Left, this time with them married within me form is again made from the formless. The cairn on the path of this passage is not unconsciously passed by this time with sparkly eyes drunk on wonderment. To clarify, that was a good thing. To enter. To enter from a place inside where reasons are unreasonable. To enter fully, because my I Am must, I had to, and so I did. I had a choice, though I am My Am. I did not bow my sovereignty to Must then. I stepped into the unknown with it bringing in Tarot full force alongside Architecture,Art, Alchemy, Poetry, and Psychology. It may have been one of the most important and courageous things I’ve done. Fears then were simply signs to inform my awareness. Acceptable risk was even off to the side behind me, left somewhere in the dust. Being afraid was like anxiety and worry, a waste of energy. I had plenty of fear, though being afraid was not a quality of them. Being aware in a manner where fear was simply the wise Counsel of Nature, of what was, is, and potentially will be. I entered fully, without a net. I stepped past my own steps.

As I immerse in the fresh discovery of my previous, first footprints that began an important cycle back then, I pause in respectful Silence and cherish the wild intensity of my creativity then. I steep, aware and conscious of this milestone moment of a new cycle, passage into a new orbit. I feel like the serpent maybe does just before it bites its own tail. I live in the meditative moment where the world of the serpent experiences that quark of a millisecond AS it bites its tail, becomes the Uroburos, and disappears Forever to bleed itself out of the serpent, out of the tip of the lead into the circle.

New circles, such as the one I have just had the honor to experience, make all things go ‘round. Awake again, I step more fully into into my previous footsteps, their paired and alive, talismanic artifacts, and stand like a Temple on their unseen stylobate, their fecund made-of-earth foundation. We stand together as I breathe the joy of being refreshed. As we stand together, One, my heartbeat fuels the next evolution, the earth’s presence rises from my feet with their groundgrabber toes up and throughout me, and my future orbits begin to present themselves to come more into focus. I will not describe them now. That would be a disrespectful irritant of a grain of sand, an undue influence to their soft oyster newness. As a Creator, I am deftly familiar with the responsibility to be the rock under which freshly molted ideas hover under my watch as they acclimate to move and make form from the formless. No irritants allowed. No grain of sand. I’m not out to make a pearl. Here, in a new circle, the snake his skin shedded to artifact steps, the snake his skin not missed Moves forward.

Enough about me. Back to the book that transported me above to right here. As I immersed into this book this time, a particular line struck me as one of my favorite assemblies of words to date. It may stand as the most concise and clear statement about creativity and divination that hasn’t lost its heart to the analytical, hasn’t divorced beauty to forsake its heart for a mistress of structure. For sure it’s no skeleton in a biology class used with overt irony as fact to discuss living things. It’s skeleton, it’s structure, is embedded within it like a 4 of Pentacles hidden bridge, and it’s still possibly an invertebrate. I needn’t know that distinction. The snake, his skin not missed resonates throughout with the chords struck by what i will refer to as The Astral of Ancestral Divination, and Forensic Archeological Empathy. No old, desiccated Hermit sitting in a Hierophant throne here. This is the Hierophant, wisdom from experience immersed in the throne of the heartfelt. Enjoy this assembly of words, this quote from someone whose politics in life I firmly do without, whose work I respect and value to the utmost. If it whets your whistle, enjoy!:

Symbolic representation and imagistic writing are the pure hieratic forms of esoteric expression. Through symbolism, and through it alone can we read the thought of the Ancients. It is only through the symbolical that we will be able to coordinate the known elements of this great civilization and that the writing may take on its true meaning.    ~ R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz — The Temple In Manp. 19

I was out in my garden yesterday, reading in the sun. I heard birds chirping and kids laughing. Then, at the end of the street, I heard the toot toot toot of a car horn. Then another. Soon, a line of cars passed by our house. The cars moseyed down the neighborhood street, all in […]

“The Four Corners of the Barn” by Joy Vernon

Joy Vernon’s The Four Corners of the Barn Tarot spread. I encourage you to experience this original Tarot spread by Joy Vernon to get a taste of her uniquely actionable and creative and effective perspective to utilize your cards in new ways. Enjoy!

This is from 2013, right after I went radio silent, and I just discovered it 7 years later now that I’m not. Thanks Joy!

I resonate with what you have created that was sparked into being from my expression of my bread making experience! I full-on dig that! Your original Tarot spread, The Four Corners of the Barntakes the idea I was kneading and places it anew without armature to rise again in a wholly different iteration of what-da-heck’s-gonna-come-outa-da-oven-this-time? An original Tarot spread was inspired!

The structure that your Four Corners of the Barn method puts in place is akin to An Emperor Move which establishes the four corners of place, setting the tone of someone’s space of inquiry with a single card. And, in that sense it makes more bread. And, differently each time.

Instead of one of the definitions of insanity Einstein expressed, repeating the same things expecting a different result, your spread provides a way to use this Emperor Move that breeds a genius loci in a single card to repeat the same things to expect a new experience, much like when one kneads the bread the next time. The house STILL smells grand, though… comfortable with the not-knowing of what’s going to come out of the oven? I love that point of not-knowing where it’s ok to be courageous and have fear at the same time. Though, just because fear is present doesn’t mean being afraid has any need to be there.

Fear can simply be an indicator, a beacon in one’s own awareness. Fear can be seen simply like flashing lights and signs on highway road construction that indicate to merge, to adjust course, to be aware of and navigate around or blast through/around/over a potential danger ahead. We just don’t know what’s going to come out of the oven each time. Nothing to be afraid of with the iterational alchemy of that. The comfortability with the not-knowing in those bread making operations is a joy, Heck, after a while the process expertises itself and only occasionally requires the 1-800-Take-Out move with open windows and fans and air freshener when you OOPS Towering Inferno burn the heck out of something, or the other, without fanfare, it’s stillborn and falls flat. It’s part of the process, and I love that part of the process that Tarot in the Land of Mystereum and my experiences with bread have produced an inspiration where a single card that plays its place-making tune in your original Tarot spread.

Thanks much for your original The Four Corner of the Barn spread! That’s one that strikes card-chords to resonate in a wonderful new way. That’s one that evolves how to look at and read a Tarot card!

[[[[insert the Strength card]]]] Well, hmmm. The archived oven door won’t open. Uh oh. For some reason I cannot find the icon to add an image of the Strength card. Oh well, 1-800-Take-Out came sooner than I thought. Par for the course for raising my head back up. OOPS, tallest blade of grass is the first to get cut. Then, NOPE. I can duck. Indiana Jones not my 8th degree Grandmaster taught me how to do that years ago with the Voice of… DOWN!

OH! THERE it is. I forgot about drop-downs, and I haven’t used these things in a while. Shaking head. Chuckling. Found it!

Thanks Joy! The Four Corners of the Barn is a full 4-card Tarot spread in a single card. Love the ingoing that settles in to establish an empire of place from a single card!

Hi!  Jordan Hoggard here.  A fun and sacred Ostara to You!  Join me along this segment of the Tarot BlogHop as I celebrate resurrection and rebirth in my way…as the one, Trinity Soul heartbeat making the Us in healthy relationships.  So, let’s get to danicin’ shall we?!!

The Day of the Balanced Dance

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.
~ Rumi
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful that the risk it took to blossom.
~ Anais Nin
Judgment
Nature’s Dance Hall.  Archetypally perennial resurrection holding space for movement.
Queen of Pentacles
The Event Coordinator master gardening the scene.  A worldly Empress,
Empress
Higher octave Queen of Pentacles.  A Yoniverse carrying things to full term.
9 of Pentacles
The partnering of the dance of an equal day and night day = more clarity for the nuance of cleanly and purely being fully present and conscious and aware to take care with how you reveal and unfold your purity in the present in your life… best expressed by how you dance?   The number 9 expresses a sacred partnership within itself, a divine and continual unfolding AS both its dna AND its mode of being… one and the same.  9 dynamically and simply steps up to the plate fully present and heartfelt as it expresses itself with its internal dance partners:
The double-colon between the numbers ”  ::  ”  =’ing inner partners sacredly embraced naturally, and
09 09 18 27 36 45 :: 54 63 72 81 90
Notice how the partners express one another though are each their own as they dance together…
they do not mirror or project… they flow together like kelp and the ocean…
bring into being one Trinity Soul like the Trinity Soul Seat for the Mind of Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers…
09 18 27 36 45
90 81 72 63 54
Always ask the mind to take a seat.  The heart and soul are healthier leaders.
Hermit
The interstice, the space between and within the dancers.  still in Silence, the full inner activity of the Om 4 charactered voice of the Univers A U M (Silence all around and as the space between the sounds / notes)
The Devil
Sacred Masculine God ~ Goddess as the DJ.  Beyond the canned notions of addiction and inhibition for the Devil there is a field, a place of purity supporting life fully engaging the higher octaves of earthly desires. To live fully in love and in love with one’s betrothed is no chain, no ball and chain.  To live fully in love and in love with one’s betrothed enhances each other’s freedom as they pulse together into being the single heartbeat of the love-warmed Trinity Soul. Each couples’ Us that is entirely their own… and not subject to the notions of others.
So, in the liminal twilight space of Ostara in the dawn between equidistant Janus-to-and-from the dusk both between the night and the day each… while you decide how the above cascades in to resonate or be tossed… for Ostara… feel into this next mini-series of lines…
Reasons are unreasonable in love
Love is a socially acceptable insanity. (author = Amy. I don;t know who that is though I like it immensely)
Lovers love what they love, together… regardless…
Nature doesn’t have to convince me when it’s raining,
and fully the same as Nature,
my love, my dearest love does not have to convince me of her love…
her love as present as the rain,
as fully supportive as the ocean…

Twilight, the magical space of dusk and dawn, the magical spaces between night and day, between day and night.  Twilight dawn, twilight dusk, each day the magical twilight twice.

So, here is a gift of a poem for your Balanced Ostara Dance…

Our Us Is Our Prayer

There comes one
who I know like wind
like rain upon the ocean.
And, as wintertime comes,
and our memories freeze together,
together may we sleep and dream.
So, that come the springtime
as we embrace with open eyes,
may we melt
back together
in warm embrace…
in the Trinity Soul heartbeat
that is Us
in each others’ arms
always.
Amen.

So, put your mind away today.

Today, on Ostara, lead with your heart…

Shall we dance?

[[insert 3 of Cups]]

Sanctuary of Self: Creating the Making

DAYum! Now, What cards go with what I am about to do?!

by Jordan Hoggard

Imbolc + Architecture + Tarot = Sanctuary of Self: Creating the Making

… where Imbolc can = a Gaelic festival celebrating the Goddess Brighid marking the beginning of spring

… where Architecture can = its Greek roots of arche and techne where arche is the creating, the first-spark of an idea, the inception AND techne is the making, the putting together of that idea in form, the conception.

… where Tarot can = a perpetual well-Spring that naturalizes Self… We are not broken when there is no hole in our soul.  We are whole and complete and resonant relationships enhance our freedom… where rather than armor for protection there is healing born of integrated armor. Integrated armor is health.

So, it is simple, really, what cards go with this?   The Magician’s intense focus for Imbolc,… though isn’t focus somehow formless?  Well, yes, get to the damn blog! ,,, and The High Priestess’ giving form to that formlessness.  Oh, I see, first there must be that formless 1st-spark of full-on focused idea, and then there is the full-on giving of form to that formless.  Though, WHAT ABOUT effin results and fruition!?!  Everything’s process!  Well, everthing is ALL IS about process … Oh, I see, Ye Olde arche – techne game…. and, not to worry… the Empress coming to full term from her Yoniverse of which all else emanates will be there …  So, Imbolc. SpringaComingOn… Hop into your Magician~Priestess~Empress… not to worry.  The Emperor was out on Holiday.

Tarot

Tarot induces the Creating.  We are each the Making always in the making. All similar, each unique. Always complete, never finished… while continually driving consequences expressed in results… results that continually create, so we can make, so we can put things together.  We are Divine, and thus we divine. Tarot cards flash as shooting stars through the mind like…Star light, star bright…

Tarot light, Tarot bright. First Tarot card I see tonight.  I wish I may, I wish I might, divine the wish I have tonight.

Imbolc

Brighid.

With an image like Joanna Powell Colbert’s at the link… nuff said.

Architecture

Tarot cards can be seen as cardboard Source Magnets.  With Tarot cards the Temple In (Wo)Man is nourished, washed in the ablution of wonderment given form in each turn of a card. With this nourishment from Source we continually heal AS each new cycle of our wholeness. We are each the Creating itself. We are each the Making. We are each the Creating and the Making in and as our Divinity.

May Tarot nourish the highest and lowest of your life-octaves.

May every card back remind you of Source, of potential, of innate talent present.  May every card turned over further assist you to develop your innate talents into effective abilities.

Always complete, Never finished. Each birth is brilliant in its age, in that which came before that is present to nourish and root the now… for flying as high as your roots go deep.  Allow the still waters in your cards running deep and silent flowing to heal your worry and direct your insight to be the heartbeat of every action. Dream while awake with your Tarot cards. Have that instant theosophic vision of the lapis of the card back that when turned over is a dream born and birthing psychic gold. Direct your dreams. Aim your insight outwardly to affect healthy and responsive results.  Water confirms to its cup they say.  Fill the cup around you with aimed insight. Discover a card anew each time you rediscover it by turning it over. Turn each card over and feel the health of 78 Card-Magnets of Source living in the the sanctuary that is you… and further nourishing you each time you do. This is especially helpful to nourish your readings for others. Water your empathy seeds with experience, fresh experience.
